नाना वाक्यसमाहार समवाय विशारदैः विशेषकार्यविद्भिश च मॊक्षधर्मपरायणैः ॥ १-६४-३६ ॥
'The hermitage was home to scholars who mastered the nuances of various expressions, experts in specialized rituals, adherents of the path to liberation, and adept at formulating theories, eliminating unnecessary factors, and deducing accurate conclusions.' ॥ 1-64-36 ॥

nAnA vAkyasamAhAra samavAya vizAradaiH vizeSakAryavidbhiza ca mòkSadharmaparAyaNaiH ॥ 1-64-36 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसथापनाक्षेप सिद्धान्त परमार्थज्ञतां गतैः लॊकायतिक मुख्यैश च समन्ताद अनुनादितम ॥ १-६४-३७ ॥
'From every direction, the hermitage echoed with discussions on the establishment, rejection, and ultimate truths, guided by those possessing supreme knowledge. It resounded with the teachings of prominent scholars in the field of materialistic philosophy as well.' ॥ 1-64-37 ॥

sathApanAkSepa siddhAnta paramArthajJatAM gataiH lòkAyatika mukhyaiza ca samantAda anunAditama ॥ 1-64-37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र तत्र च विप्रेन्द्रान नियतान संशितव्रता जपहॊमपरान सिद्धान ददर्श परवीर हा ॥ १-६४-३८ ॥
'And the king, as he proceeded, heard their voices. And the retreat resounded also with voice of men capable of charming human hearts. And the slayer of hostile heroes also saw around him learned Brahmanas of rigid vows engaged in Japa (the repeated muttering of the names of gods) and Homa (burnt-offering).' ॥ 1-64-38 ॥

tatra tatra ca viprendrAna niyatAna saMzitavratA japahòmaparAna siddhAna dadarza paravIra hA ॥ 1-64-38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआसनानि विचित्राणि पुष्पवन्ति महापतिः परयत्नॊपहितानि सम दृष्ट्वा विस्मयम आगमत ॥ १-६४-३९ ॥
'The great king, witnessing various enchanting and meticulously arranged seats adorned with flowers, was filled with astonishment at the extraordinary effort invested in their preparation.' ॥ 1-64-39 ॥

AsanAni vicitrANi puSpavanti mahApatiH parayatnòpahitAni sama dRSTvA vismayama Agamata ॥ 1-64-39 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवतायतनानां च पूजां परेक्ष्य कृतां दविजः बरह्मलॊकस्थम आत्मानं मेने स नृपसत्तमः ॥ १-६४-४० ॥
'And that best of monarchs, at the sight of the rites with which those Brahmanas worshipped the gods and the great Rishis, thought within himself that he was in the region of Brahman.' ॥ 1-64-40 ॥
