अस्या भूमेर निरसितुं भारं भागैः पृथक पृथक अस्याम एव परसूयध्वं विरॊधायेति चाब्रवीत ।। १-५८-४६ ।।

sanskrit

'To alleviate the burden of this Earth, each of you take on a portion separately. Engage in opposing forces within her and strive for her destruction," thus spoke Brahman.' ।। 1-58-46 ।।

english translation

asyA bhUmera nirasituM bhAraM bhAgaiH pRthaka pRthaka asyAma eva parasUyadhvaM viròdhAyeti cAbravIta || 1-58-46 ||

तथैव च समानीय गन्धर्वाप्सरसां गणान उवाच भगवान सर्वान इदं वचनम उत्तमम सवैर अंशैः संप्रसूयध्वं यथेष्टं मानुषेष्व इति ।। १-५८-४७ ।।

sanskrit

'The Supreme Creator, summoning the various groups of Gandharvas and Apsaras, spoke profound words to them, saying, 'Go, take birth among humans in forms of your liking, in accordance with your individual attributes.'' ।। 1-58-47 ।।

english translation

tathaiva ca samAnIya gandharvApsarasAM gaNAna uvAca bhagavAna sarvAna idaM vacanama uttamama savaira aMzaiH saMprasUyadhvaM yatheSTaM mAnuSeSva iti || 1-58-47 ||

hk transliteration

अथ शक्रादयः सर्वे शरुत्वा सुरगुरॊर वचः तथ्यम अर्थ्यं च पथ्यं च तस्य ते जगृहुस तदा ।। १-५८-४८ ।।

sanskrit

'Upon hearing the words of the Supreme Lord, which were truthful, appropriate for the situation, and filled with benefits, all the gods, including Indra, embraced and accepted them.' ।। 1-58-48 ।।

english translation

atha zakrAdayaH sarve zarutvA suraguròra vacaH tathyama arthyaM ca pathyaM ca tasya te jagRhusa tadA || 1-58-48 ||

hk transliteration

अथ ते सर्वशॊ ऽंशैः सवैर गन्तुं भूमिं कृतक्षणाः नारायणम अमित्रघ्नं वैकुण्ठम उपचक्रमुः ।। १-५८-४९ ।।

sanskrit

'Then, in an instant, all the gods, each with their respective parts, set out to reach the Earth, heading towards the invincible Narayana, the one who destroys enemies, in Vaikuntha.' ।। 1-58-49 ।।

english translation

atha te sarvazò 'MzaiH savaira gantuM bhUmiM kRtakSaNAH nArAyaNama amitraghnaM vaikuNThama upacakramuH || 1-58-49 ||

hk transliteration

यः सचक्रगदापाणिः पीतवासासित परभः पद्मनाभः सुरारिघ्नः पृथुचार्वञ्चितेक्षणः ।। १-५८-५० ।।

sanskrit

'The glorious one, adorned in purple attire and wielding the discus and mace in his hands, with the lotus blooming on his navel, the vanquisher of the enemies of the gods, his wide-eyed gaze directed downward upon his expansive chest in a yogic posture.' ।। 1-58-50 ।।
