तत परधानात्मनस तस्य भूमेः कृत्यं सवयं भुवः पूर्वम एवाभवद राजन विदितं परमेष्ठिनः ।। १-५८-४१ ।।

sanskrit

'O King, the Supreme Being, the self-existent Lord, Himself accomplished the purpose of the Earth, as ordained by Him previously, for He is the Ultimate Planner.' ।। 1-58-41 ।।

english translation

tata paradhAnAtmanasa tasya bhUmeH kRtyaM savayaM bhuvaH pUrvama evAbhavada rAjana viditaM parameSThinaH || 1-58-41 ||

सरष्टा हि जगतः कस्मान न संबुध्येत भारत सुरासुराणां लॊकानाम अशेषेण मनॊगतम ।। १-५८-४२ ।।

sanskrit

'And, O Bharata, Creator as he is of the universe, why should he not know fully what is in the minds of his creatures including the very gods and the Asuras?' ।। 1-58-42 ।।

english translation

saraSTA hi jagataH kasmAna na saMbudhyeta bhArata surAsurANAM lòkAnAma azeSeNa manògatama || 1-58-42 ||

तम उवाच महाराज भूमिं भूमिपतिर विभुः परभवः सर्वभूतानाम ईशः शम्भुः परजापतिः ।। १-५८-४३ ।।

'The mighty ruler of the Earth, the omnipresent lord, addressed her, 'O great king of the Earth, I am the supreme authority, the conqueror of all beings, the lord Shambhu, the progenitor.'' ।। 1-58-43 ।।

tama uvAca mahArAja bhUmiM bhUmipatira vibhuH parabhavaH sarvabhUtAnAma IzaH zambhuH parajApatiH || 1-58-43 ||

'Brahman replied, "O wealth-bearer, to achieve the goal for which you have sought my presence, I will enlist the cooperation of all the celestial beings."' ।। 1-58-44 ।।

yadarthama asi saMprAptA matsakAzaM vasuMdhare tadarthaM saMniyòkSyAmi sarvAna eva divaukasaH || 1-58-44 ||

इत्य उक्त्वा स महीं देवॊ बरह्मा राजन विसृज्य च आदिदेश तदा सर्वान विबुधान भूतकृत सवयम ।। १-५८-४५ ।।

'Vaisampayana continued, 'After addressing the Earth in this manner, O king, the divine Brahman bid her farewell. Following that, the Creator instructed all the gods, 'To alleviate the Earth of her burden, take births in her according to your respective roles and engage in conflict (with the already existing Asuras).'' ।। 1-58-45 ।।

english translation

itya uktvA sa mahIM devò barahmA rAjana visRjya ca Adideza tadA sarvAna vibudhAna bhUtakRta savayama || 1-58-45 ||
