आदित्यैर हि तदा दैत्या बहुशॊ निर्जिता युधि ऐश्वर्याद भरंशिताश चापि संबभूवुः कषिताव इह ॥ १-५८-२६ ॥
'And the sons of Diti (Daityas) being repeatedly defeated in war by the sons of Aditi (celestials) and deprived also of sovereignty and heaven began to be incarnated on the earth.' ॥ 1-58-26 ॥
english translation
इह देवत्वम इच्छन्तॊ मानुषेषु मनस्विनः जज्ञिरे भुवि भूतेषु तेषु तेष्व असुरा विभॊ ॥ १-५८-२७ ॥
'And the sons of Diti (Daityas) being repeatedly defeated in war by the sons of Aditi (celestials) and deprived also of sovereignty and heaven began to be incarnated on the earth.' ॥ 1-58-27 ॥
english translation
गॊष्व अश्वेषु च राजेन्द्र खरॊष्ट्रमहिषेषु च करव्यादेषु च भूतेषु गजेषु च मृगेषु च ॥ १-५८-२८ ॥
'And, O king, the Asuras being possessed of great powers, and desirous of sovereignty began to be born on earth amongst various creatures, such as kine, horses, asses, camels, buffaloes, among creatures such as Rakshasas and others, and elephants and deer.' ॥ 1-58-28 ॥

जातैर इह महीपाल जायमानैश च तैर मही न शशाकात्मनात्मानम इयं धारयितुं धरा ॥ १-५८-२९ ॥
'And, O protector of the earth, owing to those already born and to those that were being born, the earth became incapable of supporting herself.' ॥ 1-58-29 ॥
english translation
अथ जाता महीपालाः के चिद बलसमन्विताः दितेः पुत्रा दनॊश चैव तस्माल लॊकाद इह चयुताः ॥ १-५८-३० ॥
'And amongst the sons of Diti and Danu, cast out of heaven, some were born on the earth as kings of great pride and insolence.' ॥ 1-58-30 ॥
