वीर्यवन्तॊ ऽवलिप्तास ते नानारूपधरा महीम इमां सागरपर्यन्तां परीयुर अरिमर्दनाः ॥ १-५८-३१ ॥
'Endowed with immense energy, they traversed the earth in diverse forms, capable of subduing all adversaries and filling the expanse of the land, extending to the boundaries marked by the ocean.' ॥ 1-58-31 ॥
english translation
vIryavantò 'valiptAsa te nAnArUpadharA mahIma imAM sAgaraparyantAM parIyura arimardanAH ॥ 1-58-31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबराह्मणान कषत्रियान वैश्याञ शूद्रांश चैवाप्य अपीडयन अन्यानि चैव भूतानि पीडयाम आसुर ओजसा ॥ १-५८-३२ ॥
'And by their strength, they also began to oppress Brahmanas and Kshatriyas and Vaisyas and Sudras and all other creatures.' ॥ 1-58-32 ॥
english translation
barAhmaNAna kaSatriyAna vaizyAJa zUdrAMza caivApya apIDayana anyAni caiva bhUtAni pIDayAma Asura ojasA ॥ 1-58-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतरासयन्तॊ विनिघ्नन्तस तांस तान भूतगणांश च ते विचेरुः सर्वतॊ राजन महीं शतसहस्रशः ॥ १-५८-३३ ॥
'Terrifying and killing all creatures, they traversed the earth, O king, in bands of hundreds and thousands.' ॥ 1-58-33 ॥

tarAsayantò vinighnantasa tAMsa tAna bhUtagaNAMza ca te viceruH sarvatò rAjana mahIM zatasahasrazaH ॥ 1-58-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआश्रमस्थान महर्षींश च धर्षयन्तस ततस ततः अब्रह्मण्या वीर्यमदा मत्ता मदबलेन च ॥ १-५८-३४ ॥
'Devoid of truth and virtue, proud of their strength, and intoxicated with (the wine of) insolence, they even insulted the great Rishis in their hermitages. ' ॥ 1-58-34 ॥

AzramasthAna maharSIMza ca dharSayantasa tatasa tataH abrahmaNyA vIryamadA mattA madabalena ca ॥ 1-58-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं वीर्यबलॊत्सिक्तैर भूर इयं तैर महासुरैः पीड्यमाना महीपाल बरह्माणम उपचक्रमे ॥ १-५८-३५ ॥
'Under the relentless oppression of the formidable Asuras, armed with immense strength and energy, and wielding ample resources, the Earth contemplated seeking refuge in Brahman.' ॥ 1-58-35 ॥
