जातैर इह महीपाल जायमानैश च तैर मही न शशाकात्मनात्मानम इयं धारयितुं धरा ॥ १-५८-२९ ॥

sanskrit

'And, O protector of the earth, owing to those already born and to those that were being born, the earth became incapable of supporting herself.' ॥ 1-58-29 ॥

english translation

jAtaira iha mahIpAla jAyamAnaiza ca taira mahI na zazAkAtmanAtmAnama iyaM dhArayituM dharA ॥ 1-58-29 ॥
