यत तव एतत पश्यसि बरह्मन मूलम अस्यार्धभक्षितम तत्र लम्बामहे सर्वे सॊ ऽपय एकस तप आस्थितः ॥ १-४१-२४ ॥
'The root you see, half-eaten, is the very support by which we are suspended in this pit, and it belongs to the one who has embraced asceticism alone.' ॥ 1-41-24 ॥
