अस्ति नस तात तपसः फलं परवदतां वर संतानप्रक्षयाद बरह्मन पतामॊ निरये ऽशुचौ ॥ १-४१-१३ ॥

sanskrit

'O child, foremost among speakers, we have indeed reaped the fruits of our asceticism. However, O Brahmana, it is due to the loss of our progeny that we are descending into this unholy hell.' ॥ 1-41-13 ॥

english translation

asti nasa tAta tapasaH phalaM paravadatAM vara saMtAnaprakSayAda barahmana patAmò niraye 'zucau ॥ 1-41-13 ॥
