तं च मौन वरतधरं शरुत्वा मुनिवरं तदा भूय एवाभवद राजा शॊकसंतप्त मानसः ॥ १-३८-२३ ॥

'And the king, learning that foremost of Rishis in the forest had been observing the vow of silence, was doubly afflicted with sorrow and seeing the kindness of the Rishi Samika, and considering his sinful act towards him, the king became very repentant.' ॥ 1-38-23 ॥
