तस्य महता कालेन गुरुः परितॊषं जगाम तत्परितॊषाच च शरेयः सर्वज्ञतां चावाप एषा तस्यापि परीक्षा वेदस्य ॥ १-३-८२ ॥

sanskrit

'After a considerable time, his teacher, pleased with him, attained contentment. Due to this satisfaction, Upamanyu not only acquired prosperity but also gained comprehensive knowledge. This, too, was a test for him in the realm of the Vedas.' ॥ 1-3-82 ॥

english translation

tasya mahatA kAlena guruH paritòSaM jagAma tatparitòSAca ca zareyaH sarvajJatAM cAvApa eSA tasyApi parIkSA vedasya ॥ 1-3-82 ॥
