स एवम उक्तः पौष्यस तं परत्युवाच संप्रति भवान उच्छिष्टः समर तावत न हि सा कषत्रिया उच्छिष्टेनाशुचिना वा शक्या दरष्टुम पतिव्रतात्वाद एषा नाशुचेर दर्शनम उपैतीति ॥ १-३-११२ ॥
'Upon hearing this, Utanka pondered for a moment and then responded, "Great King, allow me to recall my recent actions to determine whether I might be impure due to contact with remnants of a meal. It is well known that a virtuous queen, devoted to her husband, refrains from being seen by anyone in an impure state caused by contact with leftovers. Similarly, she avoidspresenting herself before those who are tainted in such a manner." ॥ 1-3-112 ॥
