तम उपेत्यापश्यद उत्तङ्क आसीनम स तम उपेत्याशीर्भिर अभिनन्द्यॊवाच अर्थी भवन्तम उपगतॊ ऽसमीति ॥ १-३-१०६ ॥
'On arriving at the palace, Utanka saw Paushya seated (on his throne). And approaching him Utanka saluted the monarch by pronouncing blessings and said, 'I am come as a petitioner to thee.' ॥ 1-3-106 ॥
english translation
स एनम अभिवाद्यॊवाच भगवन पौष्यः खल्व अहम किं करवाणीति ॥ १-३-१०७ ॥
'And King Paushya, having returned Utanka's salutations, said, 'Sir, what shall I do for thee?' ॥ 1-3-107 ॥

तम उवाचॊत्तङ्कः गुर्वर्थे कुण्डलाभ्याम अर्थ्य आगतॊ ऽसमीति ये ते कषत्रियया पिनद्धे कुण्डले ते भवान दातुम अर्हतीति ॥ १-३-१०८ ॥
'Utanka replied, "I have come for the purpose of my preceptor. Those ear-rings, O King, which are worn by your Queen, who is attached to a pair of ear-rings, it is for those I have come, and you are worthy of bestowing them." ॥ 1-3-108 ॥

तं पौष्यः परत्युवाच परविश्यान्तःपुरं कषत्रिया याच्यताम इति ॥ १-३-१०९ ॥
'King Paushya replied, 'Enter the royal chambers where the Queen resides, Utanka, and request her to bestow the ear-rings upon you.' ॥ 1-3-109 ॥

स तेनैवम उक्तः परविश्यान्तःपुरं कषत्रियां नापश्यत ॥ १-३-११० ॥
'Thus instructed, Utanka entered the inner chambers but did not find the Queen there.' ॥ 1-3-110 ॥
