[वि] दासी भूतास्म्य अनार्याया भगिन्याः पतगॊत्तम पणं वितथम आस्थाय सर्पैर उपधिना कृतम ।। १-२३-९ ।।

'Questioned by him in this manner, Vinata, the mother and noble son, spoke with great virtue, energy, and strength. She said, "O finest of birds, misfortune has made me the servant of my co-wife. Through deceit, the serpents manipulated the outcome of our wager, resulting in my loss.' ।। 1-23-9 ।।

english translation

[vi] dAsI bhUtAsmya anAryAyA bhaginyAH patagòttama paNaM vitathama AsthAya sarpaira upadhinA kRtama || 1-23-9 ||
