शतक्रतुश च संप्रेक्ष्य विमुखान देवता गणान बभूवावस्थितः परीतः परशंसन कृष्ण पाण्डवौ ॥ १-२१९-११ ॥
'Then, O monarch, Indra, the performer of a hundred sacrifices, seeing the immortals retreat, was filled with joy and praised Krishna and Arjuna.' ॥ 1-219-11 ॥

निवृत्तेषु तु देवेषु वाग उवाचाशरीरिणी शतक्रतुम अभिप्रेक्ष्य महागम्भीर निःस्वना ॥ १-२१९-१२ ॥
'When the celestials ceased their battle, a disembodied voice, profound and resonant, addressed Indra, the performer of a hundred sacrifices, saying:' ॥ 1-219-12 ॥

न ते सखा संनिहितस तक्षकः पन्नगॊत्तमः दाहकाले खाण्डवस्य कुरुक्षेत्रं गतॊ हय असौ ॥ १-२१९-१३ ॥
'Your friend Takshaka, the chief of snakes, has not been slain! He had journeyed to Kurukshetra before the conflagration began in Khandava.' ॥ 1-219-13 ॥

न च शक्यॊ तवया जेतुं युद्धे ऽसमिन समवस्थितौ वासुदेवार्जुनौ शक्र निबॊधेदं वचॊ मम ॥ १-२१९-१४ ॥
'Know from my words, O Vasava, that Vasudeva and Arjuna are invincible in battle, incapable of being defeated by anyone!' ॥ 1-219-14 ॥

नरनारायणौ देवौ ताव एतौ विश्रुतौ दिवि भवान अप्य अभिजानाति यद वीर्यौ यत पराक्रमौ ॥ १-२१९-१५ ॥
'They are Nara and Narayana, those ancient gods renowned in heaven! You know well their power and their prowess.' ॥ 1-219-15 ॥
