पिशाचान पक्षिणॊ नागान पशूंश चापि सहस्रशः निघ्नंश चरति वार्ष्णेयः कालवत तत्र भारत ॥ १-२१९-६ ॥

'And, O Bharata, the descendant of Vrishni moved swiftly like death itself, slaying thousands of Pisachas, birds, Nagas, and other creatures.' ॥ 1-219-6 ॥

pizAcAna pakSiNò nAgAna pazUMza cApi sahasrazaH nighnaMza carati vArSNeyaH kAlavata tatra bhArata ॥ 1-219-6 ॥

कषिप्तं कषिप्तं हि तच चक्रं कृष्णस्यामित्र घातिनः हत्वानेकानि सत्त्वानि पाणिम एति पुनः पुनः ॥ १-२१९-७ ॥

'The discus, repeatedly hurled from the hands of Krishna, the slayer of all enemies, returned to him after slaughtering countless creatures.' ॥ 1-219-7 ॥

kaSiptaM kaSiptaM hi taca cakraM kRSNasyAmitra ghAtinaH hatvAnekAni sattvAni pANima eti punaH punaH ॥ 1-219-7 ॥

तथा तु निघ्नतस तस्य सर्वसत्त्वानि भारत बभूव रूपम अत्युग्रं सर्वभूतात्मनस तदा ॥ १-२१९-८ ॥

'The countenance and form of Krishna, the essence of all creation, grew fierce to behold as he engaged in the slaughter of Pisachas, Nagas, and Rakshasas.' ॥ 1-219-8 ॥

tathA tu nighnatasa tasya sarvasattvAni bhArata babhUva rUpama atyugraM sarvabhUtAtmanasa tadA ॥ 1-219-8 ॥

समेतानां च देवानां दानवानां च सर्वशः विजेता नाभवत कश चित कृष्ण पाण्डवयॊर मृधे ॥ १-२१९-९ ॥

'No one among the celestials, who had mustered there could vanquish in battle Krishna and Arjuna.' ॥ 1-219-9 ॥

तयॊर बलात परित्रातुं तं दावं तु यदा सुराः नाशक्नुवञ शमयितुं तदाभूवन पराङ्मुखाः ॥ १-२१९-१० ॥

'When the celestials realized they could not quench the conflagration or protect the forest from the might of Krishna and Arjuna, they withdrew from the scene.' ॥ 1-219-10 ॥
