यं सम सॊमः समारुह्य दानवान अजयत परभुः नगमेघप्रतीकाशं जवलन्तम इव च शरिया ॥ १-२१६-११ ॥

'It was the very chariot from which Lord Soma had defeated the Danavas. Radiant with beauty, it resembled an evening cloud reflecting the brilliance of the setting sun.' ॥ 1-216-11 ॥

आश्रिता तं रथश्रेष्ठं शक्रायुधसमा शुभा तापनीया सुरुचिरा धवजयष्टिर अनुत्तमा ॥ १-२१६-१२ ॥

'The magnificent chariot, as glorious as the weapon of Indra himself, bore a splendid flagstaff of gold that gleamed brilliantly in the sun, marking it as truly unparalleled.' ॥ 1-216-12 ॥

तस्यां तु वानरॊ दिव्यः सिंहशार्दूललक्षणः विनर्दन्न इव तत्रस्थः संस्थितॊ मूर्ध्न्य अशॊभत ॥ १-२१६-१३ ॥

'Upon it stood a divine monkey, marked with the features of a lion and a tiger, as if roaring, shining gloriously atop.' ॥ 1-216-13 ॥

'On the other flags were various large creatures, whose roars and yells caused the enemy's soldiers to faint.' ॥ 1-216-14 ॥

स तं नानापताकाभिः शॊभितं रथम उत्तमम परदक्षिणम उपावृत्य दैवतेभ्यः परणम्य च ॥ १-२१६-१५ ॥

'Then Arjuna, clad in mail and armed with a sword, his fingers protected by leather gloves, walked around the splendid chariot adorned with numerous flags. After bowing to the gods, he ascended the chariot like a virtuous man riding a celestial car to heaven.' ॥ 1-216-15 ॥
