मैवम इत्य अब्रवीत कृष्णः शमयंस तस्य तद वचः यत्रास्त्रम अस्त्रेण च तच छमयाम आस फाल्गुनः ।। १-२-१८६ ।।

'Subsequently, Krishna, asserting, "This shall not come to pass," countered Aswatthaman's words. Arjuna, in turn, nullified the impact of that weapon with one of his own.' ।। 1-2-186 ।।

maivama itya abravIta kRSNaH zamayaMsa tasya tada vacaH yatrAstrama astreNa ca taca chamayAma Asa phAlgunaH || 1-2-186 ||

दरौणिद्वैपायनादीनां शापाश चान्यॊन्य कारिताः तॊयकर्मणि सर्वेषां राज्ञाम उदकदानिके ।। १-२-१८७ ।।

'Recognizing Aswatthaman's malevolent intentions, Dwaipayana and Krishna pronounced curses on him, reciprocating the curses that had been exchanged by Drona, Vyasa, and others during the royal ceremony.' ।। 1-2-187 ।।

'This account, concealed until now, regarding Karna, the valiant son of Pritha (Kunti), has been narrated here in the tenth section of the Souptika Parva.' ।। 1-2-188 ।।

शलॊकाश च सप्ततिः परॊक्ता यथावद अभिसंख्यया सौप्तिकैषीक संबन्धे पर्वण्य अमितबुद्धिना ।। १-२-१९० ।।

'Seventy verses have been appropriately spoken, counting them accurately, in the Souptika Parva, pertaining to the inexhaustibly intelligent connection with the Parva. This Parva has been put about great Rishi the two Parvas called Sauptika and Aishika.' ।। 1-2-190 ।।
