ऋश्य शृङ्गस्य चरितं कौमार बरह्मचारिणः जामदग्न्यस्य रामस्य चरितं भूरि तेजसः ।। १-२-११६ ।।

'Then the story of Rishyasringa who adopted Brahmacharya mode of life from his very boyhood; then the history of Rama of great prowess, the son of Jamadagni.' ।। 1-2-116 ।।

कार्तवीर्य वधॊ यत्र हैहयानां च वर्ण्यते सौकन्यम अपि चाख्यानं चयवनॊ यत्र भार्गवः ।। १-२-११७ ।।

'This epic recounts the demise of Kartavirya along with the downfall of the Haihaya dynasty. Subsequently, it details the sacred encounter between the Pandavas and the Vrishnis at the hallowed site of Prabhasa, followed by the captivating narrative of Su-kanya.' ।। 1-2-117 ।।

शर्याति यज्ञे नासत्यौ कृतवान सॊमपीथिनौ ताभ्यां च यत्र स मुनिर यौवनं परतिपादितः ।। १-२-११८ ।।

' The tale unfolds the story of Sage Sharyati, who, having conducted a Yajna, was blessed with two sons, Satyayajna and Somapitha. Interestingly, it was in that very place that the sage rejuvenated his youth, courtesy of the grace bestowed upon him by his two sons.' ।। 1-2-118 ।।

जन्तूपाख्यानम अत्रैव यत्र पुत्रेण सॊमकः पुत्रार्थम अयजद राजा लेभे पुत्रशतं च सः ।। १-२-११९ ।।

' Then hath been described the history of king Mandhata; then the history of prince Jantu; and how king Somaka by offering up his only son (Jantu) in sacrifice obtained a hundred others.' ।। 1-2-119 ।।

अष्टावक्रीयम अत्रैव विवादे यत्र बन्दिनम विजित्य सागरं पराप्तं पितरं लब्धवान ऋषिः ।। १-२-१२० ।।

' Then the story of Ashtavakra, in which occurs the disputation, at the sacrifice of Janaka, between that Rishi and the first of logicians, Vandi, the son of Varuna; the defeat of Vandi by the great Ashtavakra, and the release by the Rishi of his father from the depths of the ocean.' ।। 1-2-120 ।।
