यावत कीर्तिर मनुष्यस्य न परणश्यति कौरव तावज जीवति गान्धारे नष्टकीर्तिस तु नश्यति ॥ १-१९५-११ ॥
'O Kaurava, a person does not perish as long as their fame endures. One lives as long as one's fame lasts and dies when one's fame is gone.' ॥ 1-195-11 ॥
english translation
yAvata kIrtira manuSyasya na paraNazyati kaurava tAvaja jIvati gAndhAre naSTakIrtisa tu nazyati ॥ 1-195-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतम इमं समुपातिष्ठ धर्मं कुरु कुलॊचितम अनुरूपं महाबाहॊ पूर्वेषाम आत्मनः कुरु ॥ १-१९५-१२ ॥
'Follow, O son of Gandhari, the righteous path befitting the Kuru lineage. O mighty-armed one, emulate the practices of your ancestors.' ॥ 1-195-12 ॥
english translation
tama imaM samupAtiSTha dharmaM kuru kulòcitama anurUpaM mahAbAhò pUrveSAma AtmanaH kuru ॥ 1-195-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिष्ट्या धरन्ति ते वीरा दिष्ट्या जीवति सा पृथा दिष्ट्या पुरॊचनः पापॊ नसकामॊ ऽतययं गतः ॥ १-१९५-१३ ॥
'We are fortunate that the Pandavas have survived. We are fortunate that Kunti is alive. We are fortunate that the villain Purochana, unable to accomplish his evil intentions, has met his end.' ॥ 1-195-13 ॥

diSTyA dharanti te vIrA diSTyA jIvati sA pRthA diSTyA puròcanaH pApò nasakAmò 'tayayaM gataH ॥ 1-195-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतदा परभृति गान्धारे न शक्नॊम्य अभिवीक्षितुम लॊके पराणभृतां कं चिच छरुत्वा कुन्तीं तथागताम ॥ १-१९५-१४ ॥
'Since the moment I heard that the sons of Kuntibhoja's daughter had perished in the fire, O son of Gandhari, I have been unable to face any living being.' ॥ 1-195-14 ॥

tadA parabhRti gAndhAre na zaknòmya abhivIkSituma lòke parANabhRtAM kaM cica charutvA kuntIM tathAgatAma ॥ 1-195-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन चापि दॊषेण तथा लॊकॊ वैति पुरॊचनम यथा तवां पुरुषव्याघ्र लॊकॊ दॊषेण गच्छति ॥ १-१९५-१५ ॥
'O tiger among men, upon hearing of the fate that befell Kunti, the world does not hold Purochana as guilty as it holds you.' ॥ 1-195-15 ॥

na cApi dòSeNa tathA lòkò vaiti puròcanama yathA tavAM puruSavyAghra lòkò dòSeNa gacchati ॥ 1-195-15 ॥
