[वयास] ततस तु ते पूर्वज देववाक्यं; शरुत्वा देवा यत्र देवा यजन्ते समासीनास ते समेता महाबला; भागी रथ्यां ददृशुः पुण्डरीकम ॥ १-१८९-९ ॥

sanskrit

'Vyasa continued, "Upon hearing these words of the primordial deity, the celestials returned to the location of the grand sacrifice. There, seated beside the Bhagirathi, the mighty one beheld a golden lotus floating downstream."' ॥ 1-189-9 ॥

english translation

[vayAsa] tatasa tu te pUrvaja devavAkyaM; zarutvA devA yatra devA yajante samAsInAsa te sametA mahAbalA; bhAgI rathyAM dadRzuH puNDarIkama ॥ 1-189-9 ॥
