करुद्धं तु शक्रं परसमीक्ष्य देवॊ; जहास शक्रं च शनैर उदैक्षत संस्तम्भितॊ ऽभूद अथ देवराजस; तेनॊक्षितः सथाणुर इवावतस्थे ॥ १-१८९-१६ ॥

'I am the lord of the universe," proclaimed Indra. The youth, who was none other than the god Mahadeva, observed Indra's wrath with a smile and cast a glance at him. Instantly, at that glance, the chief of the celestials was paralyzed and stood there motionless like a stake.' ॥ 1-189-16 ॥

karuddhaM tu zakraM parasamIkSya devò; jahAsa zakraM ca zanaira udaikSata saMstambhitò 'bhUda atha devarAjasa; tenòkSitaH sathANura ivAvatasthe ॥ 1-189-16 ॥
