ते तत्र शूराः कथयां बभूवुः; कथा विचित्राः पृतनाधिकाराः अस्त्राणि दिव्यानि रथांश च नागान; खड्गान गदाश चापि परश्वधांश च ॥ १-१८४-११ ॥
'Then those heroes began conversing with each other. The discussions among those princes, each capable of leading an army, were exceedingly captivating, revolving around celestial chariots, weapons, elephants, swords, arrows, and battle-axes.' ॥ 1-184-11 ॥

तेषां कथास ताः परिकीर्त्यमानाः; पाञ्चालराजस्य सुतस तदानीम शुश्राव कृष्णां च तथा निषण्णां; ते चापि सर्वे ददृशुर मनुष्याः ॥ १-१८४-१२ ॥
'The son of the Panchala king listened attentively from his concealed position to everything they said. All those who were with him also witnessed Krishna in that state.' ॥ 1-184-12 ॥

धृष्टद्युम्नॊ राजपुत्रस तु सर्वं; वृत्तं तेषां कथितं चैव रात्रौ सर्वं राज्ञे दरुपदायाखिलेन; निवेदयिष्यंस तवरितॊ जगाम ॥ १-१८४-१३ ॥
'When morning arrived, Prince Dhṛṣṭadyumna swiftly emerged from his hiding place, eager to relay to Drupada all that had transpired at the potter's house and everything he had heard the heroes discussing throughout the night.' ॥ 1-184-13 ॥

पाञ्चालराजस तु विषण्णरूपस; तान पाण्डवान अप्रतिविन्दमानः धृष्टद्युम्नं पर्यपृच्छन महात्मा; कव सा गता केन नीता च कृष्णा ॥ १-१८४-१४ ॥
'The King of Panchala was sorrowful because he did not recognize the Pandavas as the ones who had taken away his daughter. Upon Dhṛṣṭadyumna's return, the illustrious monarch asked, "Where has Krishna gone? Who has taken her away?"' ॥ 1-184-14 ॥

कच चिन न शूद्रेण न हीनजेन; वैश्येन वा करदेनॊपपन्ना कच चित पदं मूर्ध्नि न मे निदिग्धं; कच चिन माला पतिता न शमशाने ॥ १-१८४-१५ ॥
'Has any Shudra or someone of low birth, or has a tax-paying Vaishya dared to place his dirty foot upon my head by taking my daughter away? O son, has that wreath of flowers been discarded in a graveyard?' ॥ 1-184-15 ॥
