इच्छन्न अपचितिं कर्तुं भृगूणां भृगुसत्तमः सर्वलॊकविनाशाय तपसा महतैधितः ।। १-१७०-११ ।।

sanskrit

'And that descendant of the Bhrigu lineage, seeking to honor his slain ancestors, committed himself to the harshest of penances with the intention of destroying the entire world.' ।। 1-170-11 ।।

english translation

icchanna apacitiM kartuM bhRgUNAM bhRgusattamaH sarvalòkavinAzAya tapasA mahataidhitaH || 1-170-11 ||

'Desiring to gratify his ancestors, the Rishi, through his severe asceticism, afflicted the three worlds, including the celestials, the Asuras, and human beings.' ।। 1-170-12 ।।

'Then, O dear one, all the Pitris (ancestral spirits), recognizing him as the supreme Bhrigu, came from the Pitri-loka (ancestral realm) to that great one and spoke these words:' ।। 1-170-13 ।।

'O child, it was not out of incapacity that the Bhrigus, with their souls under complete control, remained indifferent to their own destruction at the hands of the murderous Kshatriyas.' ।। 1-170-15 ।।
