'However, it so happened that some Kshatriyas, while digging as they wished in the residence of a certain Bhargava, stumbled upon a large treasure.' ।। 1-169-16 ।।

'Then, by chance, O son, the Kshatriya found wealth under the earth in the house of a certain Bhargava. All the chief Kshatriyas together saw that wealth.' ।। 1-169-17 ।।

'Enraged by what they perceived as deceitful behavior by the Bhrigus, the Kshatriyas insulted the Brahmanas, despite their pleas for mercy. Then, those mighty warriors commenced slaughtering the Bhrigus with their sharp arrows. They roamed across the earth, even killing the unborn embryos in the wombs of the women of the Bhrigu lineage.' ।। 1-169-18 ।।
