अथ गर्भः स भित्त्वॊरुं बराह्मण्या निर्जगाम ह मुष्णन दृष्टीः कषत्रियाणां मध्याह्न इव भास्करः ततश चक्षुर वियुक्तास ते गिरिदुर्गेषु बभ्रमुः ॥ १-१६९-२१ ॥
'The Kshatriyas then attempted to destroy the embryo. Upon reaching the site, they witnessed the expectant mother radiating with inherent energy. The child, emerging from her thigh and shining as bright as the midday sun, dazzled the eyes of the Kshatriyas. Deprived of their sight, the Kshatriyas wandered through the remote mountains.' ॥ 1-169-21 ॥

atha garbhaH sa bhittvòruM barAhmaNyA nirjagAma ha muSNana dRSTIH kaSatriyANAM madhyAhna iva bhAskaraH tataza cakSura viyuktAsa te giridurgeSu babhramuH ॥ 1-169-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततस ते मॊघसंकल्पा भयार्ताः कषत्रियर्षभाः बरह्मणीं शरणं जग्मुर दृष्ट्यर्थं ताम अनिन्दिताम ॥ १-१६९-२२ ॥
'Distressed by their blindness, the princes were filled with sorrow and resolved to seek the protection of the blameless woman in hopes of regaining their sight.' ॥ 1-169-22 ॥

tatasa te mòghasaMkalpA bhayArtAH kaSatriyarSabhAH barahmaNIM zaraNaM jagmura dRSTyarthaM tAma aninditAma ॥ 1-169-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptऊचुश चैनां महाभागां कषत्रियास ते विचेतसः जयॊतिः परहीणा दुःखार्ताः शान्तार्चिष इवाग्नयः ॥ १-१६९-२३ ॥
'Afflicted with sorrow and blinded, like extinguished flames, those Kshatriyas addressed the illustrious lady with anxious hearts.' ॥ 1-169-23 ॥

Ucuza cainAM mahAbhAgAM kaSatriyAsa te vicetasaH jayòtiH parahINA duHkhArtAH zAntArciSa ivAgnayaH ॥ 1-169-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभगवत्याः परसादेन गच्छेत कषत्रं सचक्षुषम उपारम्य च गच्छेम सहिताः पापकर्मणः ॥ १-१६९-२४ ॥
'They said, "With your grace, O lady, we seek restoration of our sight. After that, we will return home together and forever refrain from our sinful ways."' ॥ 1-169-24 ॥

bhagavatyAH parasAdena gaccheta kaSatraM sacakSuSama upAramya ca gacchema sahitAH pApakarmaNaH ॥ 1-169-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसपुत्रा तवं परसादं नः सर्वेषां कर्तुम अर्हसि पुनर दृष्टिप्रदानेन राज्ञः संत्रातुम अर्हसि ॥ १-१६९-२५ ॥
'O noble one, it is fitting for you and your offspring to show us compassion. Please favor these kings by restoring their eyesight.' ॥ 1-169-25 ॥

saputrA tavaM parasAdaM naH sarveSAM kartuma arhasi punara dRSTipradAnena rAjJaH saMtrAtuma arhasi ॥ 1-169-25 ॥
