[वस] कृतवीर्य इति खयातॊ बभूव नृपतिः कषितौ याज्यॊ वेदविदां लॊके भृगूणां पार्थिवर्षभः ।। १-१६९-११ ।।

sanskrit

'Continuing, the Gandharva said, 'Then Vasishtha spoke, 'There once was a renowned king named Kritavirya. He was the disciple of the Veda-knowing Bhrigus and the foremost among the kings of the earth.' ।। 1-169-11 ।।

english translation

[vasa] kRtavIrya iti khayAtò babhUva nRpatiH kaSitau yAjyò vedavidAM lòke bhRgUNAM pArthivarSabhaH || 1-169-11 ||

स तान अग्रभुजस तात धान्येन च धनेन च सॊमान्ते तर्पयाम आस विपुलेन विशां पतिः ।। १-१६९-१२ ।।

'After conducting the Soma sacrifice, that king, O child, pleased the Brahmanas with generous offerings of rice and wealth.' ।। 1-169-12 ।।

भूमौ तु निदधुः के चिद भृगवॊ धनभक्षयम ददुः के चिद दविजातिभ्यॊ जञात्वा कषत्रियतॊ भयम ।। १-१६९-१५ ।।

'Some among the Bhrigus, to safeguard their riches, buried them underground; others, fearing the Kshatriyas, began to distribute their wealth to other Brahmanas, while some of them willingly gave whatever the Kshatriyas requested.' ।। 1-169-15 ।।
