अचिरात स मनुष्येन्द्रॊ नगरीं पुण्यकर्मणाम विवेश सहितस तेन वसिष्ठेन महात्मना ॥ १-१६८-१६ ॥
'After a long time, the monarch, accompanied by Vasishtha, re-entered his auspicious capital.' ॥ 1-168-16 ॥

acirAta sa manuSyendrò nagarIM puNyakarmaNAma viveza sahitasa tena vasiSThena mahAtmanA ॥ 1-168-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptददृशुस तं ततॊ राजन्न अयॊध्यावासिनॊ जनाः पुष्येण सहितं काले दिवाकरम इवॊदितम ॥ १-१६८-१७ ॥
'The citizens of Ayodhya beheld their king accompanied by his priest, as if he were the rising sun.' ॥ 1-168-17 ॥

dadRzusa taM tatò rAjanna ayòdhyAvAsinò janAH puSyeNa sahitaM kAle divAkarama ivòditama ॥ 1-168-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस हि तां पूरयाम आस लक्ष्म्या लक्ष्मीवतां वरः अयॊध्यां वयॊम शीतांशुः शरत्काल इवॊदितः ॥ १-१६८-१८ ॥
'The monarch, surpassing all in beauty, adorned the entire city of Ayodhya with his radiance, akin to how the autumnal moon adorns the entire sky with its brilliance.' ॥ 1-168-18 ॥

sa hi tAM pUrayAma Asa lakSmyA lakSmIvatAM varaH ayòdhyAM vayòma zItAMzuH zaratkAla ivòditaH ॥ 1-168-18 ॥

'The city, adorned with freshly swept streets and decorated with flags and banners, delighted the hearts of its inhabitants as it gleamed brilliantly before them.' ॥ 1-168-19 ॥

saMsikta mRSTapanthAnaM patAkòcchraya bhUSitama manaH parahlAdayAma AsA tasya tata purama uttamama ॥ 1-168-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतुष्टपुष्टजनाकीर्णा सा पुरी कुरुनन्दन अशॊभत तदा तेन शक्रेणेवामरावती ॥ १-१६८-२० ॥
'And, O prince of the Kuru lineage, the city, brimming with joyous and healthy souls in his presence, appeared radiant, akin to Amaravati in the company of the chief of the celestials.' ॥ 1-168-20 ॥
