इक्ष्वाकूणां तु येनाहम अनृणः सयां दविजॊत्तम तत तवत्तः पराप्तुम इच्छामि वरं वेदविदां वर ॥ १-१६८-११ ॥
'But, O best of Brahmanas, I seek a boon from you by which I may be freed from the debt I owe to the race of Ikshvaku, O foremost among those well-versed in the Vedas!' ॥ 1-168-11 ॥
english translation
ikSvAkUNAM tu yenAhama anRNaH sayAM davijòttama tata tavattaH parAptuma icchAmi varaM vedavidAM vara ॥ 1-168-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअपत्यायेप्सितां मह्यं महिषीं गन्तुम अर्हसि शीलरूपगुणॊपेताम इक्ष्वाकुकुलवृद्धये ॥ १-१६८-१२ ॥
'O noble one, it is fitting for you to bestow upon me, for the perpetuation of Ikshvaku's lineage, a son who is desirable, endowed with beauty, accomplishments, and good behavior.' ॥ 1-168-12 ॥

apatyAyepsitAM mahyaM mahiSIM gantuma arhasi zIlarUpaguNòpetAma ikSvAkukulavRddhaye ॥ 1-168-12 ॥

'The Gandharva continued, 'In response, Vasishtha, the best of Brahmanas dedicated to truth, replied to that mighty monarch, saying,' ॥ 1-168-13 ॥

[ga] dadAnItya eva taM tatra rAjAnaM paratyuvAca ha vasiSThaH parameSvAsaM satyasaMdhò davijòttamaH ॥ 1-168-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परतिययौ काले वसिष्ठः सहितॊ ऽनघ खयातं पुरवरं लॊकेष्व अयॊध्यां मनुजेश्वरः ॥ १-१६८-१४ ॥
'"I will give you." Afterward, O prince among men, Vasishtha, accompanied by the monarch, went to the latter's capital, renowned across the earth by the name of Ayodhya.' ॥ 1-168-14 ॥

tataH paratiyayau kAle vasiSThaH sahitò 'nagha khayAtaM puravaraM lòkeSva ayòdhyAM manujezvaraH ॥ 1-168-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतं परजाः परतिमॊदन्त्यः सर्वाः परत्युद्ययुस तदा विपाप्मानं महात्मानं दिवौकस इवेश्वरम ॥ १-१६८-१५ ॥
'In great joy, the citizens came out to welcome the sinless and illustrious one, akin to the inhabitants of heaven receiving their chief.' ॥ 1-168-15 ॥

taM parajAH paratimòdantyaH sarvAH paratyudyayusa tadA vipApmAnaM mahAtmAnaM divaukasa ivezvarama ॥ 1-168-15 ॥
