पुण्ड्रान किरातान दरमिडान सिंहलान बर्बरांस तथा तथैव दारदान मलेच्छान फेनतः सा ससर्ज ह ॥ १-१६५-३६ ॥
'From the froth of her mouth emerged hosts of Paundras, Kiratas, Yavanas, Sinhalas, and the barbarous tribes of Khasas, Chivukas, Pulindas, Chinas, and Hunas, along with Keralas and numerous other Mlechchhas.' ॥ 1-165-36 ॥

तैर विषृष्टैर महत सैन्यं नाना मलेच्छ गणैस तदा नानावरण संछन्नैर नानायुध धरैस तथा अवाकीर्यत संरब्धैर विश्वामित्रस्य पश्यतः ॥ १-१६५-३७ ॥
'And as soon as that vast army of Mlechchhas, adorned in various attire and wielding diverse weapons, manifested itself, it immediately engaged Viswamitra's soldiers right before his eyes.' ॥ 1-165-37 ॥

एकैकश च तदा यॊधः पञ्चभिः सप्तभिर वृतः अस्त्रवर्षेण महता काल्यमानं बलं ततः परभग्नं सर्वतस तरस्तं विश्वामित्रस्य पश्यतः ॥ १-१६५-३८ ॥
'The Mlechchha army was so vast that each soldier of Viswamitra was confronted by a group of six or seven enemies, overwhelming them with a torrent of weapons. Assailed with a mighty shower of weapons, Viswamitra's troops broke and fled, panic-stricken, in all directions, before his very eyes' ॥ 1-165-38 ॥

न च पराणैर वियुज्यन्ते के चित ते सैनिकास तदा विश्वामित्रस्य संक्रुद्धैर वासिष्ठैर भरतर्षभ ॥ १-१६५-३९ ॥
'None of Viswamitra's soldiers could withstand them, as they were fiercely attacked by the enraged Vasishtha.' ॥ 1-165-39 ॥

विश्वामित्रस्य सैन्यं तु काल्यमानं तरियॊजनम करॊशमानं भयॊद्विग्नं तरातारं नाध्यगच्छत ॥ १-१६५-४० ॥
'Fleeing in terror for twenty-seven miles from the sanctuary, they cried out desperately, finding themselves bereft of any protective shelter.' ॥ 1-165-40 ॥
