अवश्य करणीये ऽरथे मां तवां कालॊ ऽतयगाद अयम तवया दत्तेन तॊयेन भविष्यन्ति हितं च मे ॥ १-१४७-१६ ॥
'Inevitably, in this situation, when the time comes, you must act for your own welfare. The benefit for me lies in what you have provided.' ॥ 1-147-16 ॥
english translation
किं नव अतः परमं दुःखं यद वयं सवर्गते तवयि याचमानाः पराद अन्नं परिधावेमहि शववत ॥ १-१४७-१७ ॥
'What could be more painful than having to beg for our food like dogs from strangers after you ascend to heaven?' ॥ 1-147-17 ॥
english translation
तवयि तव अरॊगे निर्मुक्ते कलेशाद अस्मात सबान्धवे अमृते वसती लॊके भविष्यामि सुखान्विता ॥ १-१४७-१८ ॥
'But if you and your family are rescued from these difficulties, I will live happily in the celestial realm. It's been said that if, after giving away your daughter like this, you offer oblations to the gods and celestials, they will surely be favorable.' ॥ 1-147-18 ॥

एवं बहुविधं तस्या निशम्य परिदेवितम पिता माता च सा चैव कन्या पररुरुदुस तरयः ॥ १-१४७-१९ ॥
'Hearing her lamentations, her father, mother, and the girl herself cried inconsolably in various ways.' ॥ 1-147-19 ॥

ततः पररुदितान सर्वान निशम्याथ सुतस तयॊः उत्फुल्लनयनॊ बालः कलम अव्यक्तम अब्रवीत ॥ १-१४७-२० ॥
'The young boy, seeing his parents and sister weeping together, then spoke in a sweet tone, his eyes filled with delight.' ॥ 1-147-20 ॥
