[वै] ततः सर्वाः परकृतयॊ नगराद वारणावतात सर्वमङ्गल संयुक्ता यथाशास्त्रम अतन्द्रिताः ।। १-१३४-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said, "Then, all the Prakritis (ministers or constituents) from the city of Varanavata, adorned with all auspicious marks, diligently followed the scriptures."' ।। 1-134-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] tataH sarvAH parakRtayò nagarAda vAraNAvatAta sarvamaGgala saMyuktA yathAzAstrama atandritAH || 1-134-1 ||

शरुत्वागतान पाण्डुपुत्रान नाना यानैः सहस्रशः अभिजग्मुर नरश्रेष्ठाञ शरुत्वैव परया मुदा ।। १-१३४-२ ।।

'Vaisampayana said, "Upon hearing that the sons of Pandu had arrived, all the citizens of Varanavata were filled with joy. They quickly came out of the city in thousands of various vehicles, bringing with them every auspicious article as prescribed by the Shastras, to welcome those foremost of men."' ।। 1-134-2 ।।

'That tiger among men, the virtuous Yudhishthira, surrounded by them, looked resplendent like Indra, wielding the thunderbolt, amidst the celestials.' ।। 1-134-4 ।।

taira vRtaH puruSavyAghrò dharmarAjò yudhiSThiraH vibabhau devasaMkAzò vajrapANira ivAmaraiH || 1-134-4 ||

'Welcomed by the citizens and returning their greetings, those sinless ones entered the populous and beautifully adorned town of Varanavata.' ।। 1-134-5 ।।
