शरुत्वागतान पाण्डुपुत्रान नाना यानैः सहस्रशः अभिजग्मुर नरश्रेष्ठाञ शरुत्वैव परया मुदा ॥ १-१३४-२ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "Upon hearing that the sons of Pandu had arrived, all the citizens of Varanavata were filled with joy. They quickly came out of the city in thousands of various vehicles, bringing with them every auspicious article as prescribed by the Shastras, to welcome those foremost of men."' ॥ 1-134-2 ॥
