समीक्षमाणः स तु तां वयःस्थां तनु वाससम तस्य कामः परववृधे गहने ऽगनिर इवॊत्थितः ॥ १-११६-६ ॥
'Observing Madri in her youthful attire, the king's desire blazed forth like a forest fire.' ॥ 1-116-6 ॥
english translation
samIkSamANaH sa tu tAM vayaHsthAM tanu vAsasama tasya kAmaH paravavRdhe gahane 'ganira ivòtthitaH ॥ 1-116-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरहस्य आत्मसमां दृष्ट्वा राजा राजीवलॊचनाम न शशाक नियन्तुं तं कामं कामबलात कृतः ॥ १-११६-७ ॥
'Unable to contain the desire ignited by the sight of his wife with eyes resembling lotus petals, he was completely overwhelmed.' ॥ 1-116-7 ॥
english translation
rahasya AtmasamAM dRSTvA rAjA rAjIvalòcanAma na zazAka niyantuM taM kAmaM kAmabalAta kRtaH ॥ 1-116-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत एनां बलाद राजा निजग्राह रहॊगताम वार्यमाणस तया देव्या विस्फुरन्त्या यथाबलम ॥ १-११६-८ ॥
'The king, driven by desire, forcibly took hold of her, despite her resistance, but Madri, trembling in fear, struggled against him with all her strength. Lost in his passion, he forgot all about his unfortunate circumstances.' ॥ 1-116-8 ॥

tata enAM balAda rAjA nijagrAha rahògatAma vAryamANasa tayA devyA visphurantyA yathAbalama ॥ 1-116-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस तु कामपरीतात्मा तं शापं नान्वबुध्यत माद्रीं मैथुन धर्मेण गच्छमानॊ बलाद इव ॥ १-११६-९ ॥
'However, consumed by desire, his mind clouded, he did not perceive that curse. Like one possessed by strength, he proceeded to unite with Madri, following the dictates of passion.' ॥ 1-116-9 ॥

sa tu kAmaparItAtmA taM zApaM nAnvabudhyata mAdrIM maithuna dharmeNa gacchamAnò balAda iva ॥ 1-116-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजीवितान्ताय कौरव्यॊ मन्मथस्य वशंगतः शापजं भयम उत्सृज्य जगामैव बलात परियाम ॥ १-११६-१० ॥
'Unfettered by the dread of the sage's curse and driven by destiny, the king of the Kuru lineage, overwhelmed by desire, forcefully sought Madri's embrace, as if he sought to end his own life.' ॥ 1-116-10 ॥
