पूर्वजं नकुलेत्य एवं सहदेवेति चापरम माद्रीपुत्राव अकथयंस ते विप्राः परीतमानसाः अनुसंवत्सरं जाता अपि ते कुरुसत्तमाः ॥ १-११५-२१ ॥

'The wise Brahmins, with joyful hearts, named the sons of Madri as Nakula and Sahadeva, respectively, without disclosing their lineage. And thus, O best of the Kurus, even though a year had passed, their secret remained concealed. ' ॥ 1-115-21 ॥

pUrvajaM nakuletya evaM sahadeveti cAparama mAdrIputrAva akathayaMsa te viprAH parItamAnasAH anusaMvatsaraM jAtA api te kurusattamAH ॥ 1-115-21 ॥

कुन्तीम अथ पुनः पाण्डुर माद्र्य अर्थे समचॊदयत तम उवाच पृथा राजन रहस्य उक्ता सती सदा ॥ १-११५-२२ ॥

'Sometime later, Pandu once again approached Kunti on behalf of Madri. Addressed by her husband in private, O king,' ॥ 1-115-22 ॥

उक्ता सकृद दवन्द्वम एषा लेभे तेनास्मि वञ्चिता बिभेम्य अस्याः परिभवान नारीणां गतिर ईदृशी ॥ १-११५-२३ ॥

'Kunti responded, "Despite teaching her the invocation only once, she managed to obtain two sons. O king, I feel deceived by her. I fear that she will soon surpass me in the number of her children."' ॥ 1-115-23 ॥

नाज्ञासिषम अहं मूढा दवन्द्वाह्वाने फलद्वयम तस्मान नाहं नियॊक्तव्या तवयैषॊ ऽसतु वरॊ मम ॥ १-११५-२४ ॥

'Such is the deceitful nature of all wicked women. Alas, I was ignorant that by invoking the twin gods, I could obtain twin children at once. I implore you, O king, not to issue any further commands to me. Let this be the boon you grant me," Kunti pleaded."' ॥ 1-115-24 ॥

एवं पाण्डॊः सुताः पञ्च देवदत्ता महाबलाः संभूताः कीर्तिमन्तस ते कुरुवंशविवर्धनाः ॥ १-११५-२५ ॥

'Thus, O king, was born unto Pandu five sons who were begotten by celestials and were endued with great strength, and who all lived to achieve great fame and expand the Kuru race.' ॥ 1-115-25 ॥
