ततॊ माद्री विचार्यैव जगाम मनसाश्विनौ ताव आगम्य सुतौ तस्यां जनयाम आसतुर यमौ ॥ १-११५-१६ ॥
'Thereupon, Madri, having contemplated, summoned the twin gods mentally. Approaching her, they granted her the boon, and she bore two sons.' ॥ 1-115-16 ॥
english translation
tatò mAdrI vicAryaiva jagAma manasAzvinau tAva Agamya sutau tasyAM janayAma Asatura yamau ॥ 1-115-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनकुलं सहदेवं च रूपेणाप्रतिमौ भुवि तथैव ताव अपि यमौ वाग उवाचाशरीरिणी ॥ १-११५-१७ ॥
'She bore Nakula and Sahadeva, both unmatched in beauty on earth, and thus those twin gods, too, vanished after granting her the boon.' ॥ 1-115-17 ॥
english translation
nakulaM sahadevaM ca rUpeNApratimau bhuvi tathaiva tAva api yamau vAga uvAcAzarIriNI ॥ 1-115-17 ॥

'Endowed with beauty, virtue, and prosperity, they appeared superior to other men, shining with exceptional brilliance and opulence.' ॥ 1-115-18 ॥

rUpasattvaguNòpetAva etAva anyAJa janAna ati bhAsatasa tejasAtyarthaM rUpadraviNa saMpadA ॥ 1-115-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनामानि चक्रिरे तेषां शतशृङ्गनिवासिनः भक्त्या च कर्मणा चैव तथाशीर्भिर विशां पते ॥ १-११५-१९ ॥
'O king, once all the children were born, the sages dwelling on the mountain of a hundred peaks blessed them, affectionately performed the first rites of birth, and bestowed names upon them. ' ॥ 1-115-19 ॥

nAmAni cakrire teSAM zatazRGganivAsinaH bhaktyA ca karmaNA caiva tathAzIrbhira vizAM pate ॥ 1-115-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजयेष्ठं युधिष्ठिरेत्य आहुर भीमसेनेति मध्यमम अर्जुनेति तृतीयं च कुन्तीपुत्रान अकल्पयन ॥ १-११५-२० ॥
'They named the eldest Yudhishthira, the next Bhimasena, the third Arjuna, and thus Kunti's sons were named. ' ॥ 1-115-20 ॥
