शुभलक्षणसंपन्नाः सॊमवत परियदर्शनाः सिंहदर्पा महेष्वासाः सिंहविक्रान्त गामिनः सिंहग्रीवा मनुष्येन्द्रा ववृधुर देव विक्रमाः ॥ १-११५-२६ ॥

'Each possessed every auspicious mark, handsome akin to the moon, proud as lions, proficient in archery, with a gait, chest, heart, eyes, and neck reminiscent of lions. These foremost of men, resembling celestial beings in their might, began to mature.' ॥ 1-115-26 ॥

zubhalakSaNasaMpannAH sòmavata pariyadarzanAH siMhadarpA maheSvAsAH siMhavikrAnta gAminaH siMhagrIvA manuSyendrA vavRdhura deva vikramAH ॥ 1-115-26 ॥

विवर्धमानास ते तत्र पुण्ये हैमवते गिरौ विस्मयं जनयाम आसुर महर्षीणां समेयुषाम ॥ १-११५-२७ ॥

'As years passed and they witnessed the virtues of the princes flourishing, the great sages dwelling on that snow-capped sacred mountain were filled with awe.' ॥ 1-115-27 ॥

vivardhamAnAsa te tatra puNye haimavate girau vismayaM janayAma Asura maharSINAM sameyuSAma ॥ 1-115-27 ॥

ते च पञ्चशतं चैव कुरुवंशविवर्धनाः सर्वे ववृधुर अल्पेन कालेनाप्स्व इव नीरजाः ॥ १-११५-२८ ॥

'The five Pandavas and the hundred sons of Dhritarashtra, the progenitor of the Kuru lineage, grew rapidly like a cluster of lotuses in a lake.' ॥ 1-115-28 ॥
