अपत्यं धर्मफलदं शरेष्ठं विन्दन्ति साधवः आत्मशुक्राद अपि पृथे मनुः सवायम्भुवॊ ऽबरवीत ।। १-१११-३१ ।।

sanskrit

'The righteous are rewarded with the greatest fruit of their duty in the form of offspring. Even Manu, the self-born, obtained progeny through his seed.' ।। 1-111-31 ।।

english translation

apatyaM dharmaphaladaM zareSThaM vindanti sAdhavaH AtmazukrAda api pRthe manuH savAyambhuvò 'baravIta || 1-111-31 ||

'Therefore, today, feeling inferior due to my inability to beget offspring myself, I shall allow you to bear a child either through someone similar to me or someone else, O illustrious one.' ।। 1-111-32 ।।

puSpeNa parayatA sanAtA nizi kunti catuSpathe varayitvA davijaM siddhaM hutvA puMsavane 'nalama || 1-111-34 ||
