ततस तांस तेषु कुण्डेषु गर्भान अवदधे तदा सवनुगुप्तेषु देशेषु रक्षां च वयदधात ततः ॥ १-१०७-२१ ॥
'Subsequently, those embryos were placed in the pots, and then they were kept in well-secured locations, with arrangements made for their protection.' ॥ 1-107-21 ॥

शशास चैव भगवान कालेनैतावता पुनः विघट्टनीयान्य एतानि कुण्डानीति सम सौबलीम ॥ १-१०७-२२ ॥
'The illustrious Vyasa then said unto the daughter of Suvala that she should open the covers of the pots after full two years.' ॥ 1-107-22 ॥

इत्य उक्त्वा भगवान वयासस तथा परतिविधाय च जगाम तपसे धीमान हिमवन्तं शिलॊच्चयम ॥ १-१०७-२३ ॥
'And having said this and made these arrangements, the wise Dwaipayana went to the Himavat mountains for devoting himself to asceticism.' ॥ 1-107-23 ॥

जज्ञे करमेण चैतेन तेषां दुर्यॊधनॊ नृपः जन्मतस तु परमाणेन जयेष्ठॊ राजा युधिष्ठिरः ॥ १-१०७-२४ ॥
'In due course, King Duryodhana was born from one of those pieces of the lump of flesh placed in the pots. However, according to seniority in birth, King Yudhishthira was the eldest.' ॥ 1-107-24 ॥

जातमात्रे सुते तस्मिन धृतराष्ट्रॊ ऽबरवीद इदम समानीय बहून विप्रान भीष्मं विदुरम एव च ॥ १-१०७-२५ ॥
'Upon Duryodhana's birth, he cried out, resembling the braying of an ass. This sound triggered responses from asses, vultures, jackals, and crows. Violent winds arose, and fires erupted in various directions. Overwhelmed by fear, King Dhritarashtra called upon Bhishma, Vidura, their well-wishers, all the Kurus, and numerous Brahmins.
