ततः कुमारं सा देवी पराप्तकालम अजीजनत पाण्डुं लक्षणसंपन्नं दीप्यमानम इव शरिया तस्य पुत्रा महेष्वासा जज्ञिरे पञ्च पाण्डवाः ।। १-१००-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Ambalika, then, when her time came, brought forth a son of pale complexion. Blazing with beauty the child was endued with all auspicious marks. Indeed, it was this child who afterward became the father of those mighty archers, the Pandavas.' ।। 1-100-21 ।।

'Then, during the proper season, the eldest queen was presented to him. Reflecting upon the appearance and fragrance of the great sage, she, resembling the daughters of the gods in beauty, did not comply with the words of the queen out of fear.' ।। 1-100-22 ।।
