ततः कुमारं सा देवी पराप्तकालम अजीजनत पाण्डुं लक्षणसंपन्नं दीप्यमानम इव शरिया तस्य पुत्रा महेष्वासा जज्ञिरे पञ्च पाण्डवाः ।। १-१००-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Ambalika, then, when her time came, brought forth a son of pale complexion. Blazing with beauty the child was endued with all auspicious marks. Indeed, it was this child who afterward became the father of those mighty archers, the Pandavas.' ।। 1-100-21 ।।

english translation

tataH kumAraM sA devI parAptakAlama ajIjanata pANDuM lakSaNasaMpannaM dIpyamAnama iva zariyA tasya putrA maheSvAsA jajJire paJca pANDavAH || 1-100-21 ||
