यदाश्रौषं सनातकानां सहस्रैर; अन्वागतं धर्मराजं वनस्थम भिक्षाभुजां बराह्मणानां महात्मनां; तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय ॥ १-१-१०८ ॥
'When I heard that Yudhishthira had been followed into the wilderness by Snatakas and noble-minded Brahmanas who live upon alms, then, O Sanjaya, I had no hope of success.' ॥ 1-1-108 ॥
