विवाहं कारयिष्यन्तं भीष्मं काशिपतेः सुता जयेष्ठा तासाम इदं वाक्यम अब्रवीद धि सती तदा ।। १-९६-४७ ।।

sanskrit

'As the marriage arrangements were being made, the daughters of the king of Kasi, addressing Bhishma, spoke these words, the eldest among them, with conviction:' ।। 1-96-47 ।।

english translation

vivAhaM kArayiSyantaM bhISmaM kAzipateH sutA jayeSThA tAsAma idaM vAkyama abravIda dhi satI tadA || 1-96-47 ||
