विवाहं कारयिष्यन्तं भीष्मं काशिपतेः सुता जयेष्ठा तासाम इदं वाक्यम अब्रवीद धि सती तदा ॥ १-९६-४७ ॥

sanskrit

'As the marriage arrangements were being made, the daughters of the king of Kasi, addressing Bhishma, spoke these words, the eldest among them, with conviction:' ॥ 1-96-47 ॥

english translation

vivAhaM kArayiSyantaM bhISmaM kAzipateH sutA jayeSThA tAsAma idaM vAkyama abravIda dhi satI tadA ॥ 1-96-47 ॥
