एवं विजित्य ताः कन्या भीष्मः परहरतां वरः परययौ हास्तिनपुरं यत्र राजा स कौरवः ।। १-९६-४१ ।।

sanskrit

'Bhishma, the foremost warrior, having triumphed over those kings, departed with the maidens for Hastinapura, where the virtuous Kuru prince Vichitravirya, ruling the earth like his illustrious father Santanu, resided.' ।। 1-96-41 ।।

english translation

evaM vijitya tAH kanyA bhISmaH paraharatAM varaH parayayau hAstinapuraM yatra rAjA sa kauravaH || 1-96-41 ||
