ततस ते पार्थिवाः सर्वे सर्वतः परिवारयन ववर्षुः शरवर्षेण वर्षेणेवाद्रिम अम्बुदाः ॥ १-९६-२१ ॥

'Then all those kings surrounded him from all sides and showered upon him a torrent of arrows, as clouds shower rain upon a mountain.' ॥ 1-96-21 ॥

'He was completely enveloped by that downpour of arrows from all directions. Then, with his own arrows, he repelled all those kings, one by one, like a strong current repelling numerous obstacles.' ॥ 1-96-22 ॥
