कुरुः खलु दाशार्हीम उपयेमे शुभाङ्गीं नाम तस्याम अस्य जज्ञे विडूरथः ॥ १-९०-४१ ॥
'Kuru took Subhangi, a princess from the Dasarha lineage, as his wife, and together they were blessed with a son named Viduratha.' ॥ 1-90-41 ॥

विडूरथस तु मागधीम उपयेमे संप्रियां नाम तस्याम अस्य जज्ञे ऽरुग्वान नाम ॥ १-९०-४२ ॥
'Viduratha married Sanpriya, a princess from Magadha, and they had a son named Arugwan.' ॥ 1-90-42 ॥

अरुग्वान खलु मागधीम उपयेमे ऽमृतां नाम तस्याम अस्य जज्ञे परिक्षित ॥ १-९०-४३ ॥
'Arugvān married Amrita, the daughter of the Madhavas, and they were blessed with a son named Parikshit.' ॥ 1-90-43 ॥

परिक्षित खलु बाहुदाम उपयेमे सुयशां नाम तस्याम अस्य जज्ञे भीमसेनः ॥ १-९०-४४ ॥
'Parikshit, indeed, in the lineage of Bāhudāma, was renowned by the name Suyash. And from him was born Bhimasena.' ॥ 1-90-44 ॥

भीमसेनः खलु कैकेयीम उपयेमे सुकुमारीं नाम तस्याम अस्य जज्ञे पर्यश्रवाः यम आहुः परतीपं नाम ॥ १-९०-४५ ॥
'And Bhimasena married Kumari, the princess of Kekaya and begat upon her Pratisravas whose son was Pratipa.' ॥ 1-90-45 ॥
