सर्वाम इमां पृथिवीं निर्जिगाय; परस्थे बद्ध्वा हय अददं बराह्मणेभ्यः मेध्यान अश्वान एकशफान सुरूपांस; तदा देवाः पुण्यभाजॊ भवन्ति ॥ १-८८-२२ ॥
'After conquering the entire earth, I generously gifted clothes to Brahmanas and also presented a hundred splendid horses suitable for sacrificial rituals. Such virtuous deeds earned favor from the gods for those who performed them.' ॥ 1-88-22 ॥
