[आ] कतरस तव एतयॊः पूर्वं देवानाम एति सात्म्यताम उभयॊर धावतॊ राजन सूर्या चन्द्रमसॊर इव ॥ १-८७-१ ॥
'Ashtaka inquired, "O King, among these two, who continuously strive like the Sun and the Moon, who first achieves union with the divine essence, Brahma - the ascetic or the sage of wisdom?"' ॥ 1-87-1 ॥
