दशैव पूर्वान दश चापरांस तु; जञातीन सहात्मानम अथैक विंशम अरण्यवासी सुकृते दधाति; विमुच्यारण्ये सवशरीरधातून ।। १-८६-७ ।।

sanskrit

'A learned individual should transition to the Vanaprastha stage of life after fulfilling his duties, once he has gained mastery over his desires for pleasure and accumulation of wealth. When someone passes away in the forest while living the Vanaprastha lifestyle, they enable their ancestors and successors, spanning ten generations including themselves, to merge with the Divine essence.' ।। 1-86-7 ।।

dazaiva pUrvAna daza cAparAMsa tu; jaJAtIna sahAtmAnama athaika viMzama araNyavAsI sukRte dadhAti; vimucyAraNye savazarIradhAtUna || 1-86-7 ||
