तपसा कर्शितः कषामः कषीणमांसास्थि शॊणितः यदा भवति निर्द्वन्द्वॊ मुनिर मौनं समास्थितः अथ लॊकम इमं जित्वा लॊकं विजयते परम ।। १-८६-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'Emaciated from austerities, his flesh, marrow, and blood diminished, the sage transcends this world and ascends to the highest realm. Seated in meditation, indifferent to joy and sorrow, honor and disgrace, he transcends earthly bonds, attaining unity with the divine essence.' ।। 1-86-16 ।।

english translation

tapasA karzitaH kaSAmaH kaSINamAMsAsthi zòNitaH yadA bhavati nirdvandvò munira maunaM samAsthitaH atha lòkama imaM jitvA lòkaM vijayate parama || 1-86-16 ||

hk transliteration

आस्येन तु यदाहारं गॊवन मृगयते मुनिः अथास्य लॊकः पूर्वॊ यः सॊ ऽमृतत्वाय कल्पते ।। १-८६-१७ ।।

sanskrit

'When a Muni consumes food in a natural and unpremeditated manner, similar to deer or other creatures, without anticipation or particular enjoyment (akin to an infant effortlessly feeding in its mother's embrace), he merges with the cosmos like the omnipresent spirit, thereby achieving liberation.' ।। 1-86-17 ।।

english translation

Asyena tu yadAhAraM gòvana mRgayate muniH athAsya lòkaH pUrvò yaH sò 'mRtatvAya kalpate || 1-86-17 ||
