[य] जञातिः सुहृत सवजनॊ यॊ यथेह; कषीणे वित्ते तयज्यते मानवैर हि तथा तत्र कषीणपुण्यं मनुष्यं; तयजन्ति सद्यः सेश्वरा देवसंघाः ॥ १-८५-२ ॥
'Yayati replied, "Just as relatives, friends, and kin abandon someone in this world when their wealth runs out, similarly, in the celestial realms, the gods, led by Indra, abandon those whose merits have been exhausted."' ॥ 1-85-2 ॥
